Healthy Loddon Campaspe and Central Goldfields Shire Council have teamed up to offer Healthy Sports Rewards to local sporting clubs.
Healthy Sports Rewards aims to offer an alternative to the unhealthy food and drink vouchers often presented to junior sporting club participants.
We're committed to supporting sporting clubs to be places that are active, healthy and socially connected. Healthy Sports Rewards vouchers are a great way to recognise junior players and offer healthier rewards that support health and wellbeing.
In 2025, the Healthy Sports Rewards project involved four sporting clubs across Central Goldfields Shire, reaching over 300 junior participants in total.
Junior players at Maryborough Giants Football Netball Club, Maryborough Netball Association, Maryborough Junior Football Club, and Carisbrook Cricket Club each club received practical, healthy reward packs designed to replace traditional fast food initiatives.
The vouchers, including swimming vouchers, movie tickets, drink bottles and swim bags, sparked meaningful conversations around wellbeing and encouraged a more positive, health-conscious culture within junior sport.
