Muckleford Fields

Muckleford, Mount Alexander Shire

Tell us about yourself and what you grow.

Muckleford Fields is a small, family-run blueberry farm located in Muckleford, Central Victoria. Our children are sixth-generation farmers in the area, and the farm is very much a family effort and passion.

When is it in season?

Summer is when blueberries ripen & the sunflowers come out. Generally, this is January and February but will change based on weather patterns.

Do you stock your produce anywhere in the region?

At this stage, our produce is shared in small, seasonal volumes. As our blueberry plants continue to mature and availability increases, we hope to expand where our produce can be found locally. For now, our blueberries and farm goods are available through online ordering, our farm-gate stand and open days, along with occasional pop-ups at local Castlemaine and Maldon stores and markets.

What’s your favourite recipe using you own produce?

Blueberries are a staple in our kitchen and make their way onto just about everything for breakfast; pancakes, Weet-Bix, porridge, yoghurt and granola, the list goes on. Hands down though, if you haven't tried it, our favourite treat is toast topped with local honey and fresh blueberries.

Is there anything else you want to share about your business?

We’re still very much growing and learning, and we love sharing that journey. Following along on our social media is the best way to see what’s happening on the farm, what’s in season, and when we’re open or popping up locally.
