Media release - Healthy Loddon Campaspe announces seven new Adventure Bingo trails

MEDIA RELEASE

WEDNESDAY 27 MARCH, 2024

Healthy Loddon Campaspe announces seven new Adventure Bingo trails to encourage residents to get active and have some fun by exploring walks across the region.

Residents across six local government areas are being encouraged to get physically active and have some fun at the same time by taking part in Adventure Bingo – an initiative from Healthy Loddon Campaspe.

In 2024, Healthy Loddon Campaspe is adding seven new Adventure Bingo trails for residents and visitors to explore, taking the total Adventure Bingo locations to 19 across the region.

Adventure Bingo invites residents to get involved by spotting points of interest listed on a grid during their walk and once they’ve spotted three items in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line, they’ve got Bingo.

Healthy Loddon Campaspe Coordinator, Alicia O’Brien said Adventure Bingo encourages physical activity, especially for children and families, in our local region in a fun and simple way.

“Healthy Loddon Campaspe first launched Adventure Bingo during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way for residents and visitors alike to get active outdoors, at a time that suits them,” Ms O’Brien said.

“Since first launching back in 2020, Adventure Bingo has become a popular, free activity for families and children to get involved in, especially during the school holiday periods.”

“In addition, statistics from the Active Living Census told us that walking is the most popular form of physical activity in our region. So, by adding additional Adventure Bingo locations in Bridgewater, Carisbrook, Echuca, Gisborne, Harcourt, Heathcote and Long Gully, we aim to provide greater opportunities for the community to be active.”

Residents can participate in Adventure Bingo via their device or by downloading a map from the Healthy Loddon Campaspe website www.healthyloddoncampaspe.au/adventurebingo

The seven new Adventure Bingo trails are located in Bridgewater, Carisbrook, Echuca, Gisborne, Harcourt, Heathcote and Long Gully; adding to other Adventure Bingo trails in Bendigo Botanic Gardens, Boort, Castlemaine, Dunolly, Gunbower, Kangaroo Flat, Kyneton, Maldon, Maryborough, Rochester, Romsey and Wedderburn.
