Case study - HLC outdoor fitness equipment and path upgrades, Loddon Shire

Healthy Loddon Campaspe (previously known as Healthy Heart of Victoria) worked with the Loddon Shire community to install outdoor fitness equipment in three townships – Boort, Wedderburn and Pyramid Hill. The equipment provides locals with a free, accessible way to be physically active in a region where organised gyms and fitness centres aren’t always accessible.

HLC also worked with the Victorian Government and Loddon Shire to realign part of the walking path at Little Lake Boort. This allows community members to walk, run or ride around the lake without needing to cross the main road, providing an uninterrupted footpath and improved safety. The path upgrades also provide an opportunity to establish the town’s first parkrun.
